In my experience, what they captured in the doc is very real at all scales of investment.
Doesn’t matter if the budget is over 100M or a fraction of a percent of that. The frustrations and elations are all there.
Would even call it a must-watch for anyone who makes (or is thinking about making) physical immersive things.
Captures both the addictive joy of making these things and the endless reasons why it’s hard.
Just saw ¡Casa Bonita Mi Amor! - the documentary of Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s (mis)adventures along the way to reopening the “Disneyland of Mexican Restaurants” in Denver.
The dawning realization that getting the facility safe & up-to-code is 3x the budget before even starting on the fun stuff.
And then there’s this news (from a 7 year old post) that spinning tops aren’t random. Or at least not as random as a coin toss or dice roll.

Has been done, but with only two submitted games feels like we’re really missing out on some great spinning top game action.
Most of the post gets deep in to probabilistic modeling using PRISM.
But there are also recommendations like this:
“If you don't have a dreidel, you can instead use a four-sided die, but for the authentic experience you should wait eight seconds before looking at your roll.”
