We REALLY need to reintroduce the Roman custom of Damnatio Memoriae—"damnation of memory", excision of a name and person from the written record: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Damnatio_memoriae

@aeva
Of course time is real...
It just isn't what most people think it is.
Most people think time is a thing that moves, like a river or conveyor belt, or whatever you like. But there's no good reason to believe that. Of the prevailing theories (philosophical), both Presentism and Eternalism fit the best w/ the physics of the universe as we've been able to decipher them so far. For my money, Eternalism is the one that best matches the current theory of "Space-Time" mechanics.
@gwensnyder.bsky.social An important thing to remember about the Winter Solstice is that, way back before Christianity became the default religion for Western Europeans, the folk who gave us something like our modern, western version of winter celebrations did not think of Winter they way we do now. To them, Winter was not death.
Winter was pregnancy.
The gestational dormancy before birth.
Winter is the time when new things grow unseen.
I find hope in that.
Am I the only person who gets annoyed by the x-mas song, "Mary, Did You Know?"
Yes!
Yes, she felkin' knew!
It's in the fekkin' Bible, fer chrissakes!
The angel told her.
Even, discounting that, the whole, virgin birth thing might have been a clue...
Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.
@joe Your statement is asserted as fact. I couldn't find any connecting posts in your feed - nothing to add context or to show that it was meant to be a fantasy of some kind, or even a writing prompt...
So, if it was meant to be a statement of fact, I would like to go to the sources it was informed by and see for myself.
@joe Care to provide some sources?

The New York Times apparently didn’t have space to cover Czech’s murder, but they did have room for Ross Douthat to host a debate on “Did Women Ruin the Workplace,” and for David French to muse on “How Women Destroyed the West.”

Media Reaction to a Woman Murdered at Work Is ‘Nothing to See Here’

A male coworker allegedly bludgeoning Amber Czech to death has nothing to tell us, evidently, about broader trends or influences.

FAIR
@Binder For those of us with PTSD / CPTSD, it is a state to be devoutly wished, sometimes.
