John Fox ( @djembe ) has been the Breakpoints drummer at LIVE near WWDC shows since 2015!
Thank you John for a decade of keeping us all on tempo with your sense of rhythm, timing, and of course your SF Cymbals!

@daringfireball Maybe a job at NYT is out of the question, but you could (and should!) try to submit this as an op-ed. Best result? You get to educate a whole segment of the population, the handful of boomers and Xers who still read NYT. Worst result? You get a rejection letter that you can frame and put up in your office.
As an aside, if I hadn’t heard of the guy before the rise of all the AI companies, I’d swear that “Tripp Mickle” is a computer-generated name.
Anita Rée died by her own hand in 1933 because she saw there was no place for an artist like her in Hitler’s Germany.
A lot of her work was destroyed by the Nazis, but maybe the majority of what remains is at the Kunsthalle Hamburg?

Her work is psychologically penetrating, not just the portraits—let alone the self-portraits—even landscapes! I really want to see more of her art, but I don’t know if I will be able to.
Some time ago I wrote to @jsnell and @siracusa about a spirited debate my wife and I often have: Calling "Italian Ice," "Water Ice."
They answered the question and the resulting conversation is super excellent! A great way to spend 6 minutes today: https://www.theincomparable.com/robot/276/
Weather predictions have improved a lot in my lifetime, but for the last few days NYC has been in a weather system where the near term rainfall predictions have been useless. Not for the first time, to put it mildly.
The underlying models must generate confidence intervals, right? Why are they unavailable to the general public? Or am I missing something?
@Therealhoarse Yes, Tesla’s falsification a decade ago is outrageous. Also outrageous is the article's conflation of those falsifications with range changes that *every EV* deals with. I’ve had two teslas and a VW ID.4, all of them take a 30% hit near the freezing mark.
Yes, Tesla is going to cancel service calls for low range in cold weather. No, they’re not going to look at your car. They can see battery capacity, driving style, and electrons/mile with your car in the garage.
