Feeling slightly more confident here on Mastodon so here goes: I'm a mother, grandmother, wife. I've worked in China but now I'm back in the UK. I live in a mobile home and grow vegetables, keep koi, cook, knit and sew.

Took this with my phone camera last night. ( Designated Dark Sky Area). I've seen the stars as clearly from the middle of Australia, from Utah, from Navada, from Nepal and other places in the world but perhaps for me it's the most unlifting to see them here like this, in my spiritual home in Wales. #Eryri #Mastodon #fediverse #stars

I've had my solar panels for nearly a month now. It's 9 a.m and they are already generating 2kw, the battery is more than half full, and I don't know what to do with all the electricity. I'm running out of laundry. The washer is the most energy heavy appliance I possess. I've seen posts here with graphs and figures but no one warned me about the OMG put some more washing on panic.

The NHS is going the same way as the water industry. This one is down to the Labour government. When they talk about growing the economy and business friendly policies this what they mean. Pour NHS funding into the pockets of billionaires.

This is the same business model that's led to the disaster in children's homes, adult social care and mental health. Private Equity companies buy up providers, load them with debt, cut staff levels, hire less qualified staff and divert the income into executive bonuses and dividends.

I had a mild rant this morning about Cora Health and this afternoon when I calmed down I looked them up. The company is owned by Lloyds Development Capital, a private equity company run by Lloyds Bank. I'd like to say "asset strippers" but they're making a loss. So what's it all about? LDC is investing heavily in healthcare and biosciences. Do they hope one or more of these companies will pay off and they can ditch the rest? It stinks of speculation.

Starmer's government is deskilling the NHS. I tried to make an appointment with my GP for knee pain and was fobbed off with a referral to Cora Health Care.This is a private company based in a business park in Newcastle. Every single online review was negative. Seriously disabled patients are being given potentially dangerous exercises and treated by students with no medical supervision. Fucking Wes Streeting!!!
