Happy new years!! 🎆🎇

I've come up with a mnemonic for when you've got too many things on your to do list and it all feels like drudgery. It's called DRUDGE:

Delete - Do you really even have to do all these tasks?
Reduce frequency - Maybe some things you think of as daily tasks can be done every two or three days.
Underperform - Which tasks can you half-ass without consequences?
Delegate - Maybe other people would have an easier time with some of the tasks.
Give a shit - Some tasks are easier when you remember why you wanted to do them in the first place.
Enjoy - If there's a way to make a task more fun, do that! :)

Had some GroenLinks/PvdA folks at my door today, in spite of the super heavy rain. I can't vote in the Netherlands (only in communal elections), but they reminded me that some progressive folks are still not decided whether they will vote at all and that especially women vote less ... So Dutch folks: please do go vote!

I've been laid off.

I know some truly wonderful infosec journalists but here's a thing I need help with: currently, there are essentially *no* news stories out there about MSPs, small business cybersecurity - anything really meaningful beyond "here's a puff piece on a commercial white paper that did sentiment analysis on 70 small biz owners and they're all scared of furrin hackerz" or PR releases on "Google just bought an MSP in Indonesia".

Is there a cyber journalist with a beat that doesn't focus on the big gov and F500 stories?

So I just left Indiana Jones and the Great Circle for Dragon Age Veilguard.

One game where you cannot interact with the cats and dogs in the game (some of whom you have to photograph for side quests) for a game where petting a cat results in the cat purring and the controller vibrating with the purring.

Mastodon should ask you to pick a "moderator" not an "instance".

The latter is obscure technical detail. The former is about people, and power, and explainable to anyone.

"You pick which person or organisation you want to decide who and what is banned. You can change it later."
