The Light We Cannot See (2022)

I named this image after a statement a friend made upon seeing it. We had gotten up early and met at a local park with the intent of shooting #landscapephotography together - at the end of the day they felt that had failed to capture an image, and, upon seeing my image asked to purchase a print of it as a reminder of the things we fail to see.

I've been more or less absent here the last few weeks — for good reason. Lots of travel, lots of photography, and lots of hosting workshops! Anyway, here's a new image from my time in Death Valley National Park the other week at a very remote dune field. It was fast approaching twilight and this was the final composition of the night.

Last year I had the chance to visit Tasmania for the first time & to have a crack at the first day of the Overland track.

That walk is unreal & very cold in the off-season, the weather kept changing & clouds kept shifting across the landscape.

'Sanctum' (2025)

Taken last year when I had an opportunity to get amongst some pretty unreal forests.

They’ve been around for a long time - sheltered by the valley, nurtured by the rain & hidden by the remoteness.

I definitely felt very small, very young & very fortunate walking through the silence radiating from the trees
