This is a free idea for someone at a dishwasher manufacturer. You are going to get a huge bonus if you implement this and I may even buy a new dishwasher even though mine isn't very old.

When I add dishwasher soap ( ie, the soap dispenser door gets closed ) and I close the dishwasher door, automatically set a delayed start for like 1am. Then, I can load all day long and know that it will be clean when I wake up.

You're welcome.

Very soon I will once again be live on the Internet doing yet another John Wants Answers. I'm going to say this is maybe my 7000th appearance, but I haven't been keeping track so don't @ me. You can watch, if you want, at https://johnwantsanswers.com/live.html and then send John little love notes.
John Wants Answers Live Stream

Live stream for the John Wants Answers television show.

New app idea. CliffAlert. Uses your phone's GPS and high resolution topographic maps to alert the user anytime they are within 100' (um, that's probably like 800 meters or something, don't @ me ) of a cliff. I predict a small but loyal user base of people who are terrified of falling over a cliff. $1.99/month, paid annually. Money back if you do plummet over a cliff unexpectedly.

Lemme fire up my AI assistant and I should be able to bang it out in a few hours.

A certain streaming services has been cancelled. I'd been thinking of adding Hulu when it renewed in five weeks, but I guess that's $250 or so saved. Next up is to let the local advertisers I see on #KGO know I'll try not to buy things from them as long as they continue to support actions that make our First Amendment rights be null and void.
@conorh (( hugs ))

So, I don't post here much, because *waves-hands-around*, and yet here I am. As you probably know, for the past decade or so I raise money for the American Diabetes Association by riding a bike with a big flag.

Now, you say, how does riding a bike raise money? Funny, it doesn't. That's where you come in! You go to the link and donate. Thanks!

@js It's not terribly unusual; we're unlikely to make changes to API or SPI that late, so the only changes in the build are in code, but we want to have a released SDK that matches the versioning of the release itself.

Dear online-store operators. Has it ever worked to send an email to a user with “Hey, still interested in these things you put into your cart" if your order tracking system also shows that I have very recently purchased THOSE EXACT SAME THINGS BECAUSE I THEN CHECKED OUT?

Stay tuned for more "how to run an online store" tips from me. Maybe someday I can be a Linked-In influencer.

@peternlewis Sigh. That was me; I'll try to look at what Finder does wrong. It's mostly a shim on top of the NSFileManager routines so I'm surprised it doesn't work.
