Over 100 young people told us what they want the EU to be doing in order to make sure we get ready to face any crisis might arise 🚨‼️

During our Youth Citizens’ Dialogue earlier this year organised under the CitiDem Project, we discussed what preparedness is all about, how citizens can have their say in this process and most importantly we asked you what needs to be done. 🇪🇺

We all know… the best ideas come about with a cup of coffee 😅☕️

And the best coffee? Without a doubt at the European Citizens’ Panel! 🙌🇪🇺

After many discussions in working groups (and during coffee breaks), the citizens came up with a set of 20 recommendations that were handed over to the European Commission. It is now the time for policymakers to make sure that the citizens’ proposals are being turned into action and will help us all better prepare for an emergency.

After all the click click clacking… now we’re dancing our way into the final weekend 💃✨🇪🇺

150 citizens from across Europe are back in Brussels one last time to turn weeks of discussions into concrete recommendations for the future of EU preparedness.

The current international context is marked by the return of war in various parts of the world, as well as by the collapse of international balances that were partly based on law and international organizations. The United Nations are more marginalized than ever, and the declarations underpinning international law are as well.

As for the European Union’s “soft power” approach, it too now appears outdated in a world where force and power once again seem to be the norm…

The University of Bologna has hosted the final transnational Citizens Assembly of the CitiDem project, bringing together participants from all the local assemblies organised over the last two years! 🙌
