I think this was the first time I was present for one of my pets being euthenised. It uh... Fucking sucked.
I was not prepared for him to be gasping after his heart stopped. I know he was very sedated, but I am very upset by the idea that he died scared
So I'm asking myself do I move along to the next prototype I was toying with?
Do I polish breakfast game? Finish its rougher parts? Do I even try to promote it? There's no money in releasing a free game, and I don't have the time or inclination to do the indie dev thing for a living, even if I thought I was capable of succeeding!
Perhaps I'll carry on with it and treat it as a learning opportunity
My game hit the new and popular pages on itch, at least enough that I'm seeing it on the referrals list.
I only listed it because my good friend @kimau suggested it. But now I'm looking and thinking 'well, it doesn't really have a logo, I need to fix that'. And 'that one issue in the game end logic could do with addressing' and even 'I really need a less temporary looking version of that mug'
This project was only to remind me that I enjoy programming!
First post-release attempt, 12k score. If I hadn't pinged all the food into the air I could have gone for a good while longer though.
How did your breakfast go?
Well. Lost my job, took up full time parenting, made a stupid game about breakfast. Someone I really care about died, and I'm providing what might be palliative care for my cat.
