I'm a new-ish Linux user trying to make better, easier, and more approachable tutorials for basic tasks in Linux. You can check out my blog here:

My desktop could not update to Win11. I bought it with Win7 on it. Will it support the fancy Distros? Anduin, Cachy, or Zorn? #linux I like #linux_mint but want to see what else it s out there.
My new #Linux post about deleting pre-installed apps on MXLinux is live! I also added a much-needed search bar, and it only took FOUR months! Check it out here: https://simpleeasylinux.wordpress.com/2026/03/13/delete-pre-installed-apps-on-mxlinux/

Folks who have switched to #Linux / #BSD more recently than I have (so, less than 20 years ago...), are there any good 'complete beginner's guide' sorts of things you'd recommend?
I'm getting more people asking me about switching [Guess MS pissed a bunch of people off again?] and it would be easier to manage if I had a thing to link them written by someone who has any idea at-fucking-all what it's like to switch from windows, since I haven't used windows since XP.
Question for #blind #linux users. Is there a way to make the TTY login screen acessible via text to speech somehow? I think I can get Orca running once I log in but it's hard to know when I can enter my login creds and if it succeeded. 🥲

Just installed #ArchLinux. I'm using a USB stick for #WiFi, which is configured as #wlan0. It worked perfectly during installation. It's still called wlan0 in the finished system, but now #iwctl suddenly can't find any networks. If I unplug the stick while the system is running and plug it back in shortly after, it becomes #wlan1, and iwctl can find and connect to networks again. After a reboot, everything is lost.

I've spent hours searching and trying things out. Unfortunately, without success.

Does anyone have any idea what's going wrong? Thanks in advance.

My Google Pixel 6 is showing it's age. What's the state of the art with #Linux #phones? Usable yet?
[edit: I'm asking about a new phone, not about running Linux on the Pixel]
Hi everyone, I'm looking for a new role (20hr/w) in developer/community relations, accessibility, fediverse and opensource strategy. I have 30+ years experience in F/OSS, in various domains (SW/HW/...).
and a good handle on how things work together, across teams and projects.
I am located in Regensburg, DE but have been and prefer working remotely (Europe is best due to timezones). CV: http://dlittle.de/DeeAnnLittle_CV.pdf

Create AppImage Launchers on MXLinux 25

In this tutorial, I'm showing you how to create launchers from AppImage files on MXLinux 25. Note that I'm using MXL 23, but I've done this on 25 as well and the process is nearly identical (which will be addressed later). The first thing you're going to need is an AppImage file. Today's example is Bitwarden, but any program will work.
