I believe our current system is set up to make people feel alienated and unhappy, so that they stay on the unending treadmill of buying more stuff to try and achieve happiness which of course they never do since they're going the wrong way about it.
I've seen the same thing with people striving for ever greater career success - they can be a CEO, but still it doesn't touch the sides.
Nature has the ability to bring us joy. I think autistics in particular are still hardwired for that. But society tends to dismiss the value of anything free, so that the majority walk around blindfolded as far as the natural world is concerned.
People think the park down the road is sooooo boring - there's nothing to see there - so they drive miles away and spend a fortune on a theme park or go shopping instead.
They're doing exactly what the system wants them to do - spend money. And forgetting about climate change.
These people are rewarded with being told they're "normal" with the implication they're also "good".
The rest of us are "weird" and therefore not to be trusted.
ThomKreativstunde mit der Familie. Sohnemann (2 jährig) war noch etwas zurückhaltend und hat sich noch nicht so recht getraut. War völlig empört über die Fingerfarbe an den Händen.

Das ferment hat eine kahmhefe eingefangen... Kenne ich vom Sauerkraut, nicht zu verwechseln mit Schimmel. Nicht giftig, aber kann seltsam schmecken. Also hab ich die Hefe raus gelöffelt, das ganze püriert, mit Salz und Essig aufgekocht und abgefüllt. #Milchsäuregärung

Remember my green chili fermenting Experiment? The ferment caught a film-forming yeast. It took 2 days for it to developed from first visible signs to this "carpet". I know this from Sauerkraut, so I know it was not mold. It's not poisonous, but can leave a strange taste. So I decided to stop it and store it away.
I spooned out the yeast, added some vinegar and Salt, boiled it up and filled it into little jars.

Lauch, Kohlrabi, rote Bete und Sellerie sind geernted. Das Letzte Beet Tomaten fast ganz abgeräumt. Jetzt ist noch Broccoli, Rosenkohl und Kopfkohl draussen. Die müssen auch noch weg, bevor der Hirsch hungrig wird. #garten #selbstversorgung
Leech, Kohlrabi, Beetroot and celeriac are harvested. Last Tomato patch is cleared, too. Now there's just Broccoli, brussel sprouts and cabbage left. I will have to get them before the deer gets hungry. #garden #SelfSufficiency

Ich hab gedacht, so Spielzeug mit sound kaufe ich nie. Hat der kleine vor einem Jahr so ein Polizeiauto geschenkt bekommen, das auf zwei Varianten tatü machen kann.
Es klang schon länger etwas kläglich. Flog halt auch gelegentlich durch die Luft... Und dann tönte gar nichts mehr. Im inneren schepperte dafür ein loses teil. Langes Gesicht beim kleinen.
Ratet mal, wer das Ding aufgeschraubt hat um den Kontakt wieder an den Lautsprecher zu löten... Klingt wieder. Laut.
