Clinical social worker - mostly micro but man, I love a good macro rumble; trauma therapist; former historian of political memory & trauma.
Opinions my own, but I share.

Header PictureThe image is a painting by Shyama Kuver with a vibrant red background w two clasped hands & features the Mariame Kaba quote “Let this radicalize you rather than lead you to despair” another text wraps under one palm that reads, “bodily autonomy for all”
AvatarA black & white photo of a white woman who is resting her head on her hand smiling with closed lips but with a dimple showing on the viewer’s left. The picture is only of the shoulders up. Her slightly wavy hair is hanging loose falling down out of frame.
@profchander I support you teaching in this just so you know! You can use that for what it’s worth the next time you have this internal argument 😊
@profchander I’m almost a week late, but congratulations!!!! 🎉🎉🎉

#Strikes are powerful.
#Rutgers unions have worked hard to do the damn thing and have been a powerful example of solidarity.
And they just won:
48% pay increase for adjunct faculty by 2025
33% increase for TAs/GAs - $40,000 salary (in 25-26) (which whew! Yes!!!)
Presumptively renewable contracts for non-tenure track faculty!!!
Job security for adjunct faculty!!!!

This solidarity is/was beautiful & these wins are huge.

@profchander Y’all DID IT!!!! Congratulations!!!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

As a #cancer patient with a suppressed immune system it’s terrifying to be put among non-maskers, even with a respirator & a HEPA filter

Because it’s not just another COVID bout that could kill me.

In a world where a bit of math can pass as human on the internet, we are obliged to be more unpredictable, more chaotic.

Be the language model failure mode you want to see in the taco.

Who called it anxiety and not revenge of the nerves?
@WanderingTaoist thank you!
