Joyland is the best movie I’ve seen all year, probably the best movie ever! Beats everything coming out of Hollywood and the American/ European indie scene. Aur India ki toh baat hi choddh dein!
The last date to submit comments on the #DPDPBill2022 is the 2nd of January! Please do send in your comments, despite the tedious process in MyGov :/
I would like to appreciate the rich conversations at @[email protected] that helped me in analysing the #DPDPBill2022 !

I write in the Indian Express about the various burdens on data principals (users) that the recently released digital personal data protection bill places. This is critical as it dilutes the right of redressal for users. Looking forward to your feedback!

New Data Protection Law: It cements the power imbalances in the data economy

The bill, which is in its fourth life, creates significant obstructions in the path of grievance redressal for a data principal (the user) to remedy privacy harms, and request adequate compensation.

As I’m sure more mind-bending things will come out of the digital personal data protection bill (dpdpb) 😵‍💫, according to the bill public interest means — “preventing dissemination of false statements of fact” (among other things ofc). Very Elonesque 🤐 #dpdpb
Too much male energy on Twitter today 🥸
Amidst the Wire-Meta/FB saga, it is crucial to remember that platforms have arbitrary standards of taking content down and they must be pushed for more #transparency. It is worthwhile to ask why posts that had nothing to do with nudity were removed under that category.
Why is everyone so ‘saddened’ by the natural passing away of a symbol of colonial rule? What rubbish.
The Bear, on Hotstar in India, is some of the best tv I’ve ever watched. The Mare of Easttown being the other, also on Hotstar in India. Phew, emotional.
++ which is frankly a scary suggestion. I hope the Govt is open to considering existing and new feedback and suggestions to change a number of approaches and I hope “innovation” isn’t prioritised over privacy considerations. Not very optimistic :/
