I am serious about what I do, just not necessarily the way I do it.

BIG WALK BIG WALK #BIGWALK

My most anticipated game of 2026.

American Kitchen Nightmares is like watching a YouTube Poop of ITV Kitchen Nightmares.

#framework announcement felt underwhelming compared to the amount of hype they were generating.

The new features of the 13 pro actually are discouraging me switching my computer setup to the Framework 12 since new Intel hardware seems like it will be much better for that form-factor.

For a company their size it makes sense that they can’t update too much of their hardware at once. I just wish they would manage the hype, felt a little distasteful to me.

I understand but lament the choice so many thoughtful people have made to publish their newsletters on the odious Substack. Surely they recognize that they are, at least indirectly, helping some of the worst people in the world spread and monetize malignant views.

This is huge for Who fans. The first and third episodes of The Dalek Master Plan have been found.

When U.S. President Donald Trump took office in January 2025, he canceled a first-of-its-kind assessment of the health of nature. The researchers compiled it on their own and have released an 868-page draft for public comment and scientific review. Here's the @newyorktimes story about the Nature Record [gift link]. At the second link, find the draft itself.

Nature Report, Killed by Trump, Is Released Independently

A draft assessment of the health of nature in the United States is grim but shot through with bright spots and possibility.

Not sure where #Google asked for feedback about their developer verification program, but they surely didn't talk with #FLOSS devs, civil society, privacy organisations or their #Android users

#FDroid did since September, and interacted with folks in the Fediverse, forum, email and in person

They all voiced one opinion: "developer verification must be stopped"

@marcprux has written an open letter, signed by likeminded organisations who want to #keepandroidopen

Finally finished Indiana Jones and the Great Circle so I can complete my primary objective of watching the final part of Noclip’s MachineGames documentary.

This image is from January 1st 2025 and, in my opinion, has remained unbeaten as the most iconic photo of the year.

If you think of a better candidate for photo of the year, please share it in the comments!

Looky here, America
What you done done---
Let things drift
Until the riots come.

Now your policemen
Let your mobs run free.
I reckon you don't care
Nothing about me.

You tell me that Hitler
Is a mighty bad man.
I guess he took lessons
From the Ku Klux Klan.

You tell me Mussolini's
Got an evil heart.
Well, it mus-a been in Beaumont
That he had his start---

Cause everything that Hitler
And Mussolini do,
Negroes get the same
Treatment from you.

You jim crowed me
Before Hitler rose to power---
And you're STILL jim crowing me
Right now, this very hour

Yet you say we're fighting
For democracy.
Then why don't democracy
Include me?

I ask you this question
Cause I want to know
How long I got to fight
BOTH HITLER---AND JIM CROW.
