Capitalism is a denial-of-service attack on human potential
@hnapel I think what we are experiencing is more of an apocellipsis, where the world is ending but it's also never quite gets there.
@alexmdunne @evacide polycalypse?
@neuimneuland This. It is kinda bonkers how frameworks, once meant to hide complexity, now serve to *hide the simplicity* of modern HTML and CSS :)
just gonna go ahead and point out that the window of time when Artemis’ comms will be blocked by the moon later today will be approximately the length of the album “Dark Side of the Moon” by Pink Floyd, sooooooo, yeah
@beccadax Yeah, we live in a two-tier world, where flight software and other mission-critical components show that we know how to make systems reliable, but for the great majority of human-facing software we just...don't.

Trans folks who have flown recently or soon:

I'm creating a list of experiences of trans travelers with airport security, because there is a lot of scary stuff out there, and it's hard for people to know what the "ground truth" is. Please add your experiences when you go through security!

PLEASE boost & share!

The form is here to provide anonymous airport security experiences: https://forms.gle/Ui2jq8u8qEGEfCMw6

You can see the responses as I approve them (can take days) here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12IHWmQgBww2rW7Smi-wQxYTpE0FacE2A7KRvJzL1x4M/edit?usp=sharing

Trans+ Airport Security Experience Form

Please provide your experience as a trans person traveling through airport security. If you went through airport security at multiple locations along your journey, please submit additional forms for each security checkpoint you went through (for instance, if you flew from Dallas, connected in Toronto but had to also go through security there, and continued onto a third destination, you would complete one of these for Dallas and one for Toronto).

@HakeemG the other quotes identify problems that people are angry about and want changed, which the majority of elected and candidate Democrats have failed to change or campaign on or otherwise indicate that they care about. That’s the Democratic Party failing to address the concerns of their constituents. You can disagree about whether they’re right, but if Senator Sanders has said anything in favor of bombing Iran or ending USAID or other key Republican policies that wasn’t quoted in the link
President Trump celebrated Easter and horrified all decent people by threatening to commit war crimes against Iran, and his praise of Allah in the same statement gave a tremendous gift to the tiny number of people who bet against extremely long odds that he would praise Allah on Easter. Today also happens to be the anniversary of the Hands Off protest (which in hindsight seems like the first, or maybe zeroth, of the No Kings protests), which somehow seems appropriate.
@Sheril I’ve never lived in a place where home-charging would have been possible; I hope by the time I need a new car there are enough fast chargers around that I can get an electric car anyway
