Hah. Don't let one egomaniac blowhard ruin a perfectly good genre for you; he probably rooted for the Empire and the Vogons.
Annalee Newitz's _The Terraformers_ is really good, BTW. Transhumanist sci-fi, but also anti-corporate AF. I need to follow up on reading Yoon Ha Lee's _Ninefox Gambit_ as well.
I'm off here for the rest of the day, y'all.aybe the rest of the week, if mental and emotional health so require.
In the meantime, share your pain to lessen it.
Mourn as needed. Rage as needed. Grieve as needed.
Then continue mourning and grieving -- and, as soon as you're able, leap into the work of channeling the rage into non-compliance and active participation in the fight.
We are not done.
We will not submit.
We are alive, and we don't agree.
@Timolarch Hey, welcome to Mastodon. Takes a little bit to build momentum sometimes, but hopefully you'll stick with it.
I can't guarantee that I'll say much myself; I've been lousy as far as social-media engagement since *before* the egomaniac bought Twitter.
Where to Buy Books Other than Amazon
A few years back I had a habit of every six months or so doing a thread on Fedi about options for getting books other than Amazon. Eventually it finally occurred to me that I could write it once, put it up on website, and update as needed, rather than constantly reinventing the wheel.
Here’s the updated version for the new site.

Yesterday, today, and tomorrow there are only three things you need to do. They have not changed and will never change.
1. Enjoy life.
2. Be someone you would love.
3. Make things better.
Every act, every word, every breath that is not one or more of these things is wasted. And there is not a single day in which you are not capable of all three.
Been a while since I actually logged into Mastodon. But ...
I'm still processing the news about the election. Part of me doesn't want to believe that it's Definite yet - wants to hope that the AP jumped the gun and got it wrong, that the absentee ballots are going to turn this back on its head.
I can't rely on that, but I'm keeping hope in my back pocket - for whatever I need it for.
For those of you in places of safety, with power or privilege: Do what you can to help those who need it.
