The typical U.S. worker’s real wage has been stuck in the mud for four decades.

Most of the gains from a more productive economy have been going to the top — to execs and investors. The richest 10% now own more than 90% of the value of shares of stock held by Americans.

Hello?

My old #eyeglasses broke & I'm getting new #PrescriptionGlasses this month.

We often view violence through the lens of a person with a lethal weapon harming another—but we should expand our view to recognizing the different types of violence that harm society.

For example:
•Poverty is violence
•Banning asylum is violence
•Denying reparations is violence
•Forcing child hunger is violence
•Denying healthcare access is violence

Violence isn’t just when a person uses a Lethal weapon on another person. It’s also when Legal power is weaponized to deny justice to any person.

@Serendipityone I gave them some free portrait photography tips 😂🤣 That's being nice 😂

OMG!!

#agapanthus EVERYWHERE!!

Took this just now in #Oakleigh #Australia - they’re growing along a large bridge; both ends of the bridge ramps (and both sides of the road). They’re absolutely packed with these gorgeous plants!

The pics don’t give the depth and breadth, as the side I photographed was at least a 40 metre stretch. If I had to guess there must be thousands of these flowers in total, just displaying their brilliance this overcast evening.

💜💜🤍🤍

The sun sets over a couple of tall, thin spires of rock seen on the Hoodoo Trail (part of the Dinosaur Trail) in Drumheller Valley, Alberta.

When I went to visit the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Paleontology in Drumheller, I originally went just for the museum - I had no idea that there was landscape like this in the area. Badland canyons, old mines, a suspension bridge, a mini ferry, the hoodoos in this picture, and a ghost town with a functioning hotel and saloon.

‘Disappearing’ is a political act, because it does not only involve individual perpetrators of violence, but the state & its agencies (like police) who refuse to properly investigate, report on or care for these women & their communities. Disappearances are a pattern in the ongoing settler colonial project that actively targets Black women.

The ongoing solidarity between police & individual white male perpetrators creates a culture of impunity. This means that people can perpetrate violence against Indigenous women & know they will not be held to account by police or courts. This culture of impunity enables violence & ‘disappearance’. It is the fundamental reason that Indigenous people experience high rates of all forms of violence.
