I'll preference this by saying that some people will probably immediately jump to the conclusion that this is an anti-Semitic article. It is not. Saying that the Israeli government or their Intelligence agencies does bad things is no different than saying Donald Trump is acting like a fascist, or that Vladimir Putin is murderous killer. None of those statements indicate hate toward the Israeli, American, or Russian people (at least not all of them, though in at least the first two cases you may not think very highly of the people who voted for the current leaders). That the leadership of a country is doing terrible things does not mean that all the citizens of that country are bad, and you should be able to make that observation without some self-appointed censor trying to shut you down.

So with that said, remember all the QAnon flags on January 6? Remember how it was QAnon that help propel #Trump into his first term? Did you ever wonder how all that nonsense ever got started? Yes, #4chan, but how did all that stuff get posted there? Maybe you thought it was Russian disinformation, but if you thought that, you were blaming the wrong country, according to this article:

"4Chan" Exposed as Israeli Mossad Honeypot/Propaganda/Incitement Site

Now if this is all true, then it's no wonder why Trump is so willing to give the Israeli government a free pass, and tries so hard to shut down anti-Israeli/pro-Palestinian protests and articles, and is deporting the protestors that aren't U.S. citizens. Remember, he is even trying to shut down universities that don't take a hard line against protests or turn in student protestors to ICE. To put it simply, he owes the Israelis big time!!! They very likely made all the difference in his first election. If you have never watched any of the videos where MAGA types are gathered (at Trump's rallies, for example) there are always several people carrying "Q" or "QAnon" banners, flags, or signs. Even many Republican members of Congress are or were "Q" devotees. I don't think you can possibly understate how much of a difference this made in the 2016 election, and to a lesser extent in the 2024 election.

That is all I will say about it but I hope some of the news sites clamp onto this like a bulldog and do full articles about it. The American people deserve to know who has been manipulating their thinking, and is now responsible for efforts to shut down free speech on American campuses.

Sometimes Intelligence Agencies get caught doing things in public -- designed to fool the public -- and US Intel and the Israeli Mossad just got...

While I usually believe in #science I also realize science gets it wrong sometimes (plenty of scientists were willing to go on the record and say that heavier than air flight was impossible until the Wright Brothers proved them wrong), and nowhere is that more true than when it involves human beings. Now don't get me wrong, I don't for a second believe in stupid stuff like avoiding vaccines or drinking unpasteurized milk, but I do believe our understanding of what makes humans tick is very incomplete and in some cases, flat out wrong. And that is especially true when people, for one reason or another, cannot communicate with the outside world easily, and especially children who are non-verbal due to severe #autism or something similar.

And I said all that to say this, I recently stumbled across a #podcast series that kind of blew my mind. It is at https://www.radio.net/podcast/the-telepathy-tapes and you will want to start with Episode 1, so hit the "Show more" link a couple of times to see them all. This is one of those things where some will be skeptical and think it is all baloney, and you would certainly be entitled to be skeptical (at least initially), but on the other hand one of the takeaways is that non-verbal autistics may be MUCH smarter and much more aware of their surroundings than many people think, and are simply trapped in a body that doesn't allow them the ability to speak or respond in typical ways. And they may have much to offer the world, if people can accept it.

#Autism is one of those things where a lot of ableist assholes presume to speak for #autistic kids and adults; to me many of them are like foxes who have been put in charge of the welfare of chickens. So if nothing else it was refreshing to hear that some enlightened people are actually trying to help non-verbal autistic kids find ways to communicate, improve their education, and live happy and successful lives.

best linux terminal - Lemmy

what is the best linux terminal? I have been using alacritty for years and have been doing well. But I don’t think kitty and st. I was wondering if any new projects have come out in recent years.

And before anyone asks, I am not in any way connected to #WindTerm, in fact I had never heard of it prior to this morning when a family member clued me in to it. I have no idea how he found it!
Well I will just thow this out there, take it or leave it. Many #MacOS users, especially those who have moved to or also use #Linux, have asked if there is anything equivalent to or better than #iTerm2 . You might take a look at #WindTerm (https://github.com/kingToolbox/WindTerm) UNLESS you have a thing about not using completely open source code (https://github.com/kingToolbox/WindTerm/issues/2238). Depending on the features you value it may or may not be a suitable replacement for, or supplement to iTerm2.
