Public USB charging stations don’t just deliver power- they can also expose devices to data theft through juice jacking, where a port transfers data along with the charge.

We’re handing out USB data blockers at events to help you charge safely.

Got a USB data blocker from us?

Public USB ports risk juice jacking- stealing data or installing malware in seconds. This device blocks data but lets you charge safely.

Ep 12 of the Screenly Changelog is live.

@0xsalfar- who’s built many open-source Edge Apps - joins Viktor and Daniel. They cover custom dev tools, enterprise security, new hardware support, plus a chance to win a trip to Shenzhen.

We use CharlieHR at Screenly to manage birthdays, time off, and other team milestones. But we wanted those updates to be visible on our digital signage.

So...we built the CharlieHR Dashboard Edge App.

It syncs securely with CharlieHR (no external API gateways), stores credentials using TPM, and auto-adapts to your brand and time zone.

It’s fully offline-capable and open source.

Now available on the Edge App Store: https://www.screenly.io/edge-apps/charliehr-dashboard/

Use Screenly to displays employee information from CharlieHR, including birthdays, work anniversaries, and current leave status.

We’ll be in Vegas for Defcon and Black Hat.

Security isn’t a bolt-on for us- it’s part of how we think about infrastructure, from device to deployment. As digital signage moves deeper into connected and critical environments, that matters more than ever.

If you're around and want to talk signage, edge infrastructure + how we think about both through a security lens- drop us a line at [email protected].

Screenly Anywhere now runs on Samsung commercial displays with no external player required.

Tizen-powered screens are everywhere—now you can deploy Screenly natively on supported models (6.5 + 7.0) in just a few steps.

Less hardware. Less hassle. Same secure, scalable signage.

If you're building Raspberry Pi players for Screenly or Anthias, your SD card choice can make or break reliability.

This test breaks down how different cards perform (and which ones quietly throw your data away):
