So #furality is STILL supporting a straight pride meetup. Today, the day of this event, I get the most sane series of messages from a homophobe!

This is EXACTLY why straight focused events should be banned at furry cons! Cishet people are the super majority. They don’t have to worry that governments worldwide want them dead. They don’t get thrown off buildings because of their sexual and/or gender identity! They have ZERO need to their own “safe space”, especially when us queer folk are attacked by them for wanting a safe space.

Remember, #furality is ok with straight pride events, as long as it doesn’t say “pride” in the name!

Don’t be filled by the mundane name, this is a straight pride meetup. Straight focused events are ALWAYS run by homophobic right wing snowflake chuds who HATE LGBTQ folks.

Staff are cool with straight pride, even if it is a “questionable” event!

#furality is supporting the straight pride movement by allowing AND advertising a straight pride meetup. HOWEVER, they say that’s ok as it doesn’t have “pride” in the name (though they also said ZERO panels and meets had pride in the name, so they maybe banning that word?), even if a staff member said it was “weird” and “questionable”!

the right wing's war on porn is scary because its happening quietly, and nobody on tiktok, youtube, etc. will actually say anything about it, because discussions of NSFW material are already restricted on those platforms. "we have to protect THUH CHILDRUN" is a sentiment that is a winner among the general public. it just seems like "common sense".

in a sense, furry porn artists are sex workers, the most despised and marginalized of all workers.

And kink and fetish artists are the most marginalized and despised of porn artists.

Sites like patreon are not going after the big, vanilla artists just yet, every day they are just redlining out more and more fetish artists and kinks and other things where they won't be missed by anyone except the few people into those kinks. the rest of the population just shrugs.

gumroad's decision may be a wake up call to those artists who didn't think this war was affecting them. perhaps they will now know that the right is coming for all of us, and we either work together or hang separately.
