I have started watching the 1980s Spanish cartoon «David el Gnomo». This frame is typical of the show so far. It's fantastic, although you need to watch the original Spanish version to see the atomic blast in the opening scene.

My spouse attempted to commit suicide about a month ago. This is not the kind of thing I would normally share on Mastodon, but it has led to something that I need to share. I am in my early 30s and my partner is in their mid 20s. Neither of us has any known health condition that would make one assume we were not long for this world. Ever since my partner's recent attempt, we have started getting a new kind of mail: targeted advertisements for cremation and burial services. Of course, these are only in my partner's name, making it obvious that this is not some kind of grim coincidence.

I am livid, and I want to publicly shame these companies (see photos for names and addresses), but I know that they must be using some marketing service, which is pulling from some dataset sold by some data broker. I know there is not only one person involved in this, but there are humans who made decisions that directly resulted in this harassment of a suicidal person. This harassment is a crime that any healthy society would rectify swiftly. Unfortunately, we are American, so I have little recourse other than to make this post.

Due to the illegitimate fascist actions of the Trump administration + degrading trust in systems of the us government in general + increased awareness of Israel's & US's crimes against humanity and genocide + political unrest globally + mass resistance increasing, I feel the U.S. and likely some other countries are on the brink of The Revolution. I'm scared but feeling hopeful we can restart in a path of socialism / #communism in the style of #solarpunk (high tech + highly green/eco conscious).
