#WordWeavers 23 Dec—What's the first and last line of dialogue for your MC?

Like, for the whole series? Alright, let's do Jack this time.

Book 1: "You're in pain."
Book 4: “I’m yours, darling. Always.”

The fact that these words are said to the same person is so perfect. ❤️

#ScribesAndMakers 21Dec—If you had no other responsibilities or distractions, do you think you could write a complete novel in a weekend?

Absolutely not. I don't think I'd even want to. I enjoy writing too much to rush it.

Besides, my writing is too emotional for this to be healthy. As a HSP and empath, I experience the emotions of my characters. If I wrote a whole novel in two days, I'd be a puddle of emotional damage.

Maybe I could do a MG story, but even that, I'd rather take my time.

A new day. A new chance to succeed.

Calm morning. Me, not the wind, which has come up again.

A good reminder. No matter how calm I might be, it won't last. The winds will return, buffeting my body, roaring in my ears.

Maybe not right away but they will come.

Likewise, they'll recede, leaving me to clean up the branches and leaves left in their wake.

Just a variation on chop wood, carry water.

May the winds, or at least your mind, be calm #today

#ScribesAndMakers 20Dec—What do you do to discourage or prevent insects & animals from eating your garden?

Nothing. Insects & animals eating your garden is a sign of a healthy ecosystem. Dissuading wildlife from being in their own environment seems wrong. Besides, how else would things get pollinated?

That being said, I do occasionally remove beetles & aphids. Not much to prevent them from showing up, but a little soapy water mixture does the trick.

Sometimes, thinning things out helps, too.

#WordWeavers 20Dec—What's the first thing readers learn about your antagonist?

Readers first meet book four's lead antagonist in book one. At that time, they learn that despite his good looks, money, and position of power, he's an arrogant, womanizing prick.

Don't worry, justice is served.

#WritersCoffeeClub 18, Are there writing ‘traditions’ which ought to be preserved?

This discussion of tradition vs innovation is just the greedy and the exclusionist putting on a show.

By all means, let's start a club for writing cursive by candlelight, but language is an organic phenomenon, tying it down and policing it with 'oughts' can kill it just as effectively as greed masquerading as innovation can.

Let's focus on preserving a love for writing and literature instead.

#ScribesAndMakers 18Dec—Do you listen to music as an activity in itself, or is it more in the background?

Unless I'm in the car, I rarely *just* listen to music these days.

I'll turn some on while I'm cleaning the house, and while I'm reading on the treadmill. When hanging with friends, we turn on some jams from our youth. I also have it on in the background while I'm writing. Instrumental only, though, as words are too distracting.

Otherwise, the older I get, the more I prefer silence.

Book Promotion: When a world is broken who or what can put it back together? Not Miralees she's just an acrobat with her family troupe but is that all?
