Hi! I’m Rowan (they/them or person/per). Transitioning femme enby. I’m still emerging, so I don’t have much to say yet. Watch this space for updates! I’ll post a new intro when I have a better idea of who I am. Also, living under a bigoted dictator, I’m scared to share too much, even here.

I have been guysplained to more times for this one post than in my whole previous history on Fedi.

If you're mad about "y'all", you missed the point of the post.

If you're looking up the etymology of "guy", you missed the point of the post.

If you're telling me that *you* don't think "guys" is a gendered term, you missed the point of the post.

If you're saying "dude, it's just a word", you're kind of a dick.

If you're thinking that "maybe `cisheteronormative white man` shouldn't be the default assumption just because they hold a disproportionate share of power and oppressors often influence language so as to make it seem like their way is the only sane way", then...damn, you *were* paying attention!

It's hot. Now imagine being sick, aging, and locked in a building in close proximity to lots of other people who are also sick or aging with no air conditioning.

Being confined is the sentence for a crime. Even if confining someone is totally justified, boiling someone alive is not.

Many US states allow lawmakers to inspect prisons unannounced. Ask your rep to do that and see for themselves.

*More* than 20 years ago, before Google Earth, there was Keyhole, which was an independent company. It was kind of mind-blowing.

Google bought and rebranded Keyhole as Google Earth.

No offense y'all, but my opinion of older cis-white gays is dropping fast. Someone I know seriously had to explain Stonewall and trans people to someone who didn't understand why the cops weren't invited to provide security for a pride parade. They literally had never heard of it. Nor did they understand why someone might be afraid of cops now.

Straight white passing is a hell of a drug.
