I've been playing video games and guitars for my entire life.

I tried the #AlexisBledel special of #Wendys 6 piece #ChickenNuggets with barbecue dipping sauce, chased by a Hi-C Fruit Punch.

I was expecting the sweetness of the barbecue sauce to clash with the sweetness of the fruit punch. But the sweetness of the Hi-C was surprisingly subdued, which complimented well with the nuggets.

The breading on Wendy's nuggets is more textured and crumby. Compared to McDonald's McNuggets, that's more of a thin layer of solid, smoother bread over the chicken.

#HappyMothersDay to all the moms out there. You are the superheroes.

#Nintendo makes some of the best games from established genres. But their need to control their games after they've been sold to consumers is anti-consumer.

From Nintendo trying to shut down game rentals, the Game Genie, unofficial guides, and legal emulation; I've grown weary of throwing money at a company that has — and continues to — actively try to control what consumers do with their legally purchased games.

Traditional video game press reviewers usually go through ethics training, and go through a peer review process. Their editorial team is separate from their marketing team. Reviewers don't feel pressured or swayed by ad revenue or the loss of early access to games from unfavorable reviews.

YouTubers are the editoral team, marketing team, and PR team all rolled into 1. They're more susceptible to convey games favorably in order to not lose sponsorships or early review copies. But not always.

Meet Your Maker kinda seems like one of those games that could fall through the cracks, but it's on PlayStation Plus this month, so maybe that'll help it find a playerbase. Either way, I'm really enjoying it so far, here's a chunk of me building a base, raiding other bases, and getting killed a lot. Good times! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PBN7o94vAy8

I hope Asus can stick with the #ROGAlly long term, and not release new SKUs of it every few months like GPD and Aya Neo.

These handhelds have been trying to compete with the #SteamDeck on raw performance. But it's the Deck's price and user experience that has allowed it to reach more people than other PC handhelds.

Otherwise the Ally is filling a niche left open by the Deck, not directly competing with it.

We all know that the eShop shutting down sucks. But it sucks for way more reasons than you might realize.

There is no reasonable path to legally accessing enormous swaths of video game history, *even within libraries and archives*, and it’s because the ESA wants it that way.

Why game archivists are dreading this month’s 3DS/Wii U eShop shutdown

Industry lobbying against remote access leaves researchers cut off from game archives.

On the streets of Europe: EU ads talking about human rights. Meanwhile in the European Commission: "we don’t care if our chat control proposal violates human rights."

Walk the walk, European Parliament!

Stop #chatcontrol

The chat control proposal does not belong in democratic societies

The European Commission is working on a legislative proposal called chat control. If the law goes into effect, all EU citizens will have their communications monitored and audited. Now is the time to stop it.

Hey, it’s The Video Game History Foundation’s birthday, and also Pokémon Day! Here’s a terrifying intersection of those two things! Did you know that once Nintendo closes the 3DS and Wii U eShops next month, 74% of all Pokémon games released in the US will be commercially unavailable in any form?
