Full-time working mum of three littles, navigating parenting and staying (mostly) sane, somewhere in the middle of England. I'm passionate about trying to remove ultra-processed foods (UPFs) from our diets, and raising active and happy kids.

I mostly post snippets about #parenting, #food, #books, (occasionally) #investing and other titbits of life. Say #notoUPFs!

Good morning! Hubs is working today and that has me thrown off but I’ll spend the day reading and all will be well. 🀣

Wishing you all a sensational Saturday filled with only good things, high energy and positivity. Be kind to yourself and those around you, hug tight those you love most and smile, this world needs those beautiful smiles. πŸ€—πŸ«Άβ€οΈπŸ«‚ #GoodMorning #Positivity #Reading #Braille

Saw this little guy on my morning walk πŸ₯°πŸ¦”

Don't worry - I didn't get close enough to scare it... camera zoom used instead

This is stolen from someone* but I liked this article as it touches many of my thoughts about stuff like public transport, development, #OpenData and #DataRegulation https://lucumr.pocoo.org/2026/3/20/some-things-just-take-time/

I was reading a book where I wanted to annotate several pages when I came up with this idea for a bookmark containing sticky arrows. There are 400 arrows in this bookmark but if that isn't enough, it is refillable. It's very handy for recipe books or other books where you would like to re-reference or share ideas. #Leather #LeatherCraft #BookMark #maker #Books #HandMade #HandStitched #Reading

Finished reading "Intuitive Eating" by Evelyn Tribole and Elyse Resch today. If you've ever suffered with an ED, any sort of disordered eating or been stuck in diet culture you need to read this book. Please please read the book.

I wish I'd read it years ago, and it makes me sad thinking about how much life I've wasted obsessing.

I want my mind back.

uk loading gauge data added thanks to @wnd

i was really hoping for it to be a bit more interesting but it turns out that british trains are fairly uniformly tiny

(HS1's GC gauge annoyingly not in the data before anyone asks :) )

I've been creating again... It's nothing new or particularly innovative, but I made 'oreo' ice cream sandwiches. The kids love the shop bought ones, but they're so expensive...

These homemade equivalents are UPF free, and way cheaper. Plus no packaging, so can I argue they're better for the environment too?

Eldest son (a particularly picky eater of late) gave them 1000000/10, so I'm calling this a win

Kids are naturally intuitive eaters, and I'm trying to keep this going for as long as possible. So, when daughter asked if she could have some cherry tomatoes I responded with "of course you can!"

She ate the entire bag of cherry tomatoes... the entire bag. And it wasn't a small bag.

Not sure if this makes me a good or bad parent, but she met her vitamin c goal for the day πŸ˜…
