I figured out a new process for lifting onto mulberry paper!
• I placed the wet paper onto a flat smooth surface (back of a cookie sheet in this case)
• I positioned the image layer on it, trying to anticipate the degree to which it would spread out
• And smoothed it with a gentle stream of tap water
This solved the problem of the paper being too delicate and flimsy to lift!

We left Maine yesterday and are slamming back into regular life! At least I've got these four emulsion lift panoramas to remind me of a rejuvenating time away. 😢
There are things I wish I could do over in each image (and the lifting quality of the b&w definitely made an impact), but all in all I'm thrilled that they came together, and say different things about how people and land and water meet.

Prompted by @RevAndyK and his questions from the other day and then our ongoing #EmulsionLiftGang discussion, here is the result of an experiment:
An emulsion lift on 4x4 plywood, finished with Liquitex Varnish (3 coats).
I used a shot I wasn’t thrilled with of flowers in a field, and these small precut wood art boards from my local supply shop that are <$1…
