Safety Researcher at Griffith University. I spend a lot of my time looking at work and wondering why what we think that happens is not what actually happens.

We are aware of recent reports regarding targeted phishing attacks that have resulted in account takeovers of some Signal users, including government officials and journalists. We take this very seriously.

@davey did you try and reach out to any of their (frequent) co-authors?

They are saying it openly now: Greenland is next.

Katie Miller, Trump's former deputy press secretary, is posting Greenland with an American flag on it.

Mrs. Miller is the wife of Trump's Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller.

@[email protected] So the argument started it is a tool and we shouldn't blame tools for the bad they enable and we are seeing around us. When I raise another technology where this argument is made, the argument pivots to AI is good because of the good it enables.
As you raise equivalence, could you please explain why we should blame AI for the good, but not for the bad, that comes with it?
@[email protected] how is that position working out for guns?

But on the other hand, when you are sober you just don't really want to play with swords, if I'm honest.

Inside the LNP’s quiet board overhaul – and the party figures in it

Queensland’s first-term Crisafulli government has faced flak for “sack a board Friday”, but an investigation by this masthead has found even more appointees with LNP links.

Are there any mastodon instances with active participation by people who work to improve, or even enforce or discuss, safety codes?

When I decided to boycott Meta, I lost a community of electricians, inspectors, designers, and standards people.
