BREAKING: US Marines deployed to Los Angeles have carried out the first known detention of a civilian, the US military confirms.
It was confirmed to Reuters after they shared this image with the US military.

A reminder that the agreement established between Rubio and Bukele, to house "dangerous American [convicted] criminals" at CECOT "for a fee", began in March with the deportation of 261 people without trial.
They're focusing on immigrants now because you always go after low hanging fruit… first.
Once the precedent has been firmly established, has become standard practice—that people deemed unwelcome can be exported to foreign concentration camps, without society at large putting a stop to it—they'll turn to other groups.
Caught using a bathroom where relieving yourself has been banned. One-way ticket to CECOT.
Caught being homeless where sleeping rough has been banned. One-way ticket to CECOT.
Caught wearing a respirator where masks have been banned. One-way ticket to CECOT.
ICE is the tip of the sword. Your citizenship will not protect you. Your privilege will not protect you. Your whiteness will not protect you.
They're coming for all of us. Since well before 100,000 more cops.
They will show images of a burning car as proof that a protest is a 'violent riot'. But remember, mere property damage is not terrorism nor is it lawlessness.
For instance, this was Philadelphia after a Super Bowl win (Not loss! Win!). You know, 'boys will be boys' as long as it's about football.
@artemis Couple other points.
1. No Kings is accessible to someone like me with disabilities who cannot take high risks while protesting. I protested during Ferguson / Mike Brown before it was called BLM, and I've felt bad that I can't do much anymore. But something like this is accessible and just my presence without the vigor I'd like fills the needs of this particular action. Especially up in Idaho panhandle. (Region and population density greatly affects the strategy as well.)
2. Those who have never been to a protest are primed to believe lies about protests. The more folks who go to these typical type marches/rallies the better for so many reasons, especially because when they hear the lies about other protests it'll be harder to believe. And due to various psychological mechanisms, as you mentioned, they'll be more likely to show up again in this and other ways.
3. This kind of action isn't ineffectual at all! That's one of the lies we're told. These actions do lose effect when the media and the state lie about what happens and the results. But there ARE results. There is movement and pressure. Just not the instant fireworks displays we've been conditioned to expect as a sign of change. This isn't Hollywood. Change is boring and takes showing up repeatedly, whether it's at a march or taking interest in local governance, or other more eventful things. It's all part of the activism machine that supports other parts. No one act is THE act. All are needed.
Think we’re not in a police state? Think again.
There is a violent, sociopathic, cosplay sheriff in Brevard County, FL.
“Throw a brick, a firebomb or point a gun at one of our deputies, we will be notifying your family where to collect your remains at. Because we will kill you graveyard dead.”
Murdered for throwing a brick? That’s legalized domestic terrorism, not policing.

Part of radicalization is realizing that the "proper means" of accomplishing change doesn't actually work, so going to an "ineffectual" protest now could be an important step in progressing some people from liberals to comrades.
They have to first learn what doesn't work in order to understand what must be done.
