The most intense physical challenge I take on (once or twice a year) is the Spartan Mud Race (10k up & down mountains + 25 obstacles + lots of penalty exercises for failed skill-obstacles since I fail so many of them).
It pushes me hard (& I don’t love the bloody knees from crawling on rocks under barbed wire) but….
Just gave the keynote address at the JFS San Diego annual brunch. Many people were legitimately afraid but I tried to promote hope, curiosity, solidarity, & empathy.
Now just before my flight home I got to return to my happy place to find some of my own inner peace and find strength for the work ahead. Blessings to all!
Our humanitarian bus broke down again &needed lots of repairs.
But thanks to our great bus mechanic, Tony, we're back up and running and on the road in service!!!
Shabbat Shalom!!
Yanklowitz family is growing. We rescued another dog!

A thought-provoking image on human development!
As our brains expand, do our hearts expand as well?
As we grow cognitively, are we also growing emotionally?
As we get smarter, are we also becoming kinder?
Sad to learn Hezbollah bombed a soccer field in the Golan killing at least 12 and injuring dozens more.
Countless threats to the Jews coming from all directions and we can hardly take a break for mourning and healing.
We must keep going working to spread light & bring repair!

@vp @KamalaHarris is smart, experienced, capable, & cares about Jews, humanity, & the planet!

(I certainly have critiques of some of her policies & approaches, as I do with all politicians, but those are minor compared to my appreciation for her service, abilities, & character)

I found President Biden to be a mensch who truly listens to people. Now he has listened to the American people making such a humble move to step out of the way. We might all ask ourselves: what’s one area in your life where we can humbly step back to make more room for others?

Asylum seekers just released from detention centers after 4 months, who are so happy to get cleaned up at our shower project!

As we approach elections, we are going to see more dehumanization of immigrants so we need to double down on humanizing and bringing respect & dignity!
