I’m a child of the 80s, a technology enthusiast, former desktop publisher, and an advocate and supporter of libre-licensed, open-source software. I'm also a very happy and satisfied GNU+Linux user and former Classic Mac OS / Mac OS X user.

Originally from the U.S., I am involuntarily living in Trumagapistan and believe we’re all basically fucked. The problem is fundamentally larger than just Trump; right-wing-ism is a cancer in the U.S. and every other country it’s tried or tolerated.

I just proofread the American Astronomical Society response to SpaceX's response to AAS's petition to deny on SpaceX's million sat filing. It's a great document, but the fact that we need to say any of this (and spend volunteer time fighting SpaceX's highly paid lawyers) is completely infuriating.

I need to go outside now, really tough that I'm in a city and don't have a hay field available for easy rage-screaming.

How will Republicans react and respond if Iran successfully stages some kind of attack on the U.S. on their watch?

How will Democrats?

I already know how Republicans will react if it happens on Democrats' watch.

Pandora's Box has been opened; in my view it's a virtual certainty this will happen eventually, and I'm willing to bet it will be timed specifically to create the maximum recriminations and internal hatred within this country.
