Just finished Henk Roger’s The Perfect Game eariler today, which inspired me to go and play another round of Tetris Forever with a little bit of Gaiden, Famicom, and the Electronika 60!

More Everything Forever currently feels like a long read so I’m backing it up with a couple of other books for this month’s #FridayReads (and also into early April).

Both titles have been on my shelves for a *long time* and are overdue for a proper read!

You could tell me that Resident Evil: Requiem manages to run well and look brilliant on the Switch 2, or that Metroid Prime 4 looks gorgeous on a 4K television while running smooth and I would just say, “Neat!”

I’m just happy that we finally got Blue Prince after waiting for almost a whole year! 😃🎉

It is the perfect game to spend a couple of post-work evenings, listening to a podcast or an audiobook while figuring out the secret of the Antechamber and the 46th room. 😌👑

Two goals carry over, one complete but still ongoing, and one impromptu. Add one to aid the information diet for self-care as well.

Also, I’m getting into a reading habit going again and it feels lovely! 😊📚

(Not fond of seeing my mug instead of the first picture—or YouTube embed—so I’m using said photo here as well. Rinse and repeat for the foreseeable future.)

Going to blog later with poll results and what my game plan is, but for now here are my #FridayReads for the months of February and March.

Currently reading Free Ride, which has been a comfort read for the past couple weeks. It’s a travel memoir that doesn’t miss a beat, but manages to give a bird’s eye view into each destination alongside the people, cuisine, and landmarks.

It’s been a long time, but I’m starting the new year with a #FridayReads title that I started shortly after seeing Cory Doctorow talk at R.J. Julia’s.

I bought this edition of Down & Out *way* back when I first started reading Cory w/Overclocked*, Makers, and Someone Comes To Town Someone Leaves Town in 2011 (& 2012). Then the latter half of uni happened…alongside the Last Chance to See ebook.

Thought that now was a good time to finally read his first magnum opus! 📚✨

Also, this just came in shortly after I wrote the previous post…

I’ve got some reading to do before the new year begins! 😊📚

(Also: I’ve read the digital edition and I’d definitely reccomend giving Ninsight your attention if you’re looking for print gaming magazines: https://www.nintymedia.net/products/ninsight-issue-1)

With my biggest highlight of 2025 happening just weeks ago with Cory, here’s some of the other good things that happened*…

-Went to therapy for work-related issues with anxiety, which has helped immensely.
-At doctor’s orders went on an impromptu weight loss “journey” which was more or less cutting snacks and walking a lot more.
-Had a member of extended family from my Dad’s side come up to visit, who I haven’t seen in over a decade.

*Outside of what’s to come blog-wise.

Decided to show off my current @overcastfm listening stats—a much better “Wrapped” alternative to the ICE loving & chokepoint captialism practicing Spotify—with little surprises as to who takes the top spot! 😊🎧🏆💷

Not a bad year catching up on other favorites either between Office Hours Live, the Studio84 Suite, Cory Doctorow’s pod, and the Dollop.

Stone Age Gamer, of course, did well with pre-Switch 2 coverage… (1/2)

Last night, I finally got the chance to see @pluralistic during one of his book tours and I couldn’t be happier!

I already had a signed copy of Enshittification from the KS, but I wanted to thank him in person for everything he’s done in inspiring me to be more tech-conscientious* over the years. I was a little *too* starstruck when my turn came up, but he was super humble about the whole thing!

Thank you, Cory, for everything! It was truly an honor to meet you!

Thankfully found a trader before the sun set for the first night. Unfortunately, I had nothing of course—and I need to make a shelter first before even considering a trade.

I'll get there someday!
