flutton #pico8 edu link ^^^ and bonus video of "Excavator" which I've used to debug the framework.

Been working on flutton - a tiny low-code framework for #pico8. My son had been drawing little Mario levels using the sprite and map editor and wanted to get things moving - so I made this. He's not ready for code yet, but sprite flags provide a fun and easy way for him to build little games.

Dither chicken/dither cats - adventures in #pico8 fillp() continue

Dithering / lighting / palettes. Inspired by the comment in this post - https://www.lexaloffle.com/bbs/?pid=158293#p, I too have been trying to understand the second palette + tline.

Getting there slowly. Progress is slow, but the dithered look is worth it.

Single step raycaster experiment accidentally generated an anxiety dream with some impossible spaces. Too confusing to use in game, but a fun diversion.

If the 3D space is always going to be a square, you can draw walls using a single-step raycaster for a more modest CPU cost and ~200 tokens. Really did this to see if it would work, not sure it's flexible enough longterm.

Sure I will eventually want "not a square".

Still got this on a backburner

Never quite sure what I'm doing with this game, but I'm learning about how to structure code to handle characters you can talk to. And I can't argue when this made me laugh out loud (despite being "mind planned" for a couple of months now)
