WHO declared a "public health emergency of international concern," with "more than 1,000 suspected cases of a rare strain of Ebola (Bundibugyo)...identified in the eastern DRC" & >230 suspected deaths.

Officials speak of "fighting this one with several hands tied behind our back" without adequate testing ability amid no help from USAID & CDC and little from WHO (given its lessened USA funding).

The Trump administration is effectively telling the world that we can’t even save our own citizens, let alone help anyone else, when it comes to ebola.

Ebola is easy to contain with appropriate protocols. We have facilities specifically designed for this purpose. The problem is Trump created a cult of people unwilling to listen to public health guidelines, and he knows if ebola hits the US he won’t be able to contain community spread. He fucked around, we’ll see if he finds out.
