I’ve also got space so that’s probably all we need
I can't have been the first person to have noticed this: This type of thing on Google chat is like the doors in Hitchhikers that talk to you as you go through.
I sometimes think of this xkcd cartoon. https://xkcd.com/435/
I've previously added my own thing on the left: economics is just applied sociology. Now I've thought of another: psychohistory is just applied economics
So Digg is back: https://techcrunch.com/2026/01/14/digg-launches-its-new-reddit-rival-to-the-public/
Reading this article about why the original failed: https://backtofrontshow.com/what-happened-to-digg/ - a big redesign isn't a killer, so long as it's in the "right" direction. Facebook redesigned with a feed like Twitter and did OK. However, moving from community to publishers sounds like it was doomed to fail.
I've looked at the new one, but I'll wait until it creates ripples elsewhere before I go back to it. 🎤 ⬇️

Do you have a presentation you'd like to refine, or one you're working on. I highly recommend this:

I went to hear Marc Burrows talk about his new book about Christmas No. 1s last night - would recommend: https://little-bits.paulmorriss.com/2025/12/marc-burrows-mistletoe-and-vinyl-story.html
Marc Burrows - Mistletoe and Vinyl - The story of the Christmas No. 1

Last night I went to the cosy little bookshop Books on the Heath in King's Heath, Birmingham . Marc Burrows was speaking about his new book...

Do a presentation and get positive feedback - what's not to like? https://undermanager.ghost.io/presentation-club/

Here's a new thing. I get asked for help with presentations a lot. But most of the time people don't really need advice, they need an opportunity to practice. And maybe some feedback. So I've been wondering for ages if we could create a safe, supportive, welcoming space for that.
