LocationVermont, USA. Originally Dublin, Ireland.
My seventh #Makevember is a chicken coop night light. Made from some repurposed electronics, the bulb from a light bulb, lollipop stick, and hot glue.
My sixth #Makevember is winterizing oak acorns and oak tree seedlings.
This year I've put layers of acorns, in damp sand, in 5 gallon buckets, buried in soil. In the early spring I'll dig up the buckets and sow the acorns in to containers or beds.
I buried last year's containers of seedling in the ground.
And protected some older oak seedlings by surrounding them in leaves.
My fifth #Makevember is a bird feeder made of pallet wood and other reclaimed materials.
My fourth #Makevember is for my kiddo who received a year of the rabbit themed watch for their birthday. I took a thrift store analog wall clock and recreated the watch face in Inkscape and painted the clock hands with nail polish to also match the watch.
My third #Makevember is a work in progress A-frame structure to protect three blueberry plants from the winter weather.
Reused pallet wood for the frame, wire forming the hinge at the top. The cover will probably be cardboard, stuffed with straw/leaves.
Will probably have to stake it down until the main snow falls.
My second #Makevember project was down sizing four Swiss Chard plants to try and get them to survive into the Vermont winter. Hopefully the smaller pots will be easier to control the water levels and positioning for light in the window.
Happy #Makevember 2025. Today is a simple banner written with various colours of crayon.
Note: This year I not going to commit to participating every day, hopefully some bigger pieces, a couple of times a week.
#Makevember 30: Made a cardboard version of the double axe I drew up two days ago. It's ⅔ scale so about 445mm by 235mm. The blade is two layers of cardboard and the handle is four layers.
#Makevember 29: Added a larger loop of wire to a bunch Christmas ornaments.
#Makevember 28: Scale drawing of a two headed axe.
