#TimeTravelAuthors #Day5
I write #TimeTravel bc I desperately wish I knew what happened at that point in history. Since I cannot go back myself, I’ll just make it up and let it unfold the way I wish it did.

#WritersCoffeeClub #4May What's the worst thing about being a writer?

When you share
what you write and
no one reads it.

#WritersCoffeeClub #3May Does your work include pictures, maps or other custom graphics? Share your pics.

Yes, all of my blog posts include images, usually photos, or maps of places I’ve traveled, and even the occasional word clouds.

I also post a #WordlessWednesday post with only photos on a single theme every now and then.

Stupidest character? Oh, that’s my MC. She doesn’t always choose wisely, shall we say.

#WritersCoffeeClub #2May Have you had an idea halfway or more through a project that requires extensive rewriting of what you've already done?

Had an idea? I HAVE an idea.

In 2013-2014 I wrote approx 30 chapters of my #TimeTravelAuthors epic and I’m basically going to have to start over. I know where to start, but in the meantime I’ve been researching it in depth for the last decade and finishing an unrelated four-novel series.

It’s next on my TBW pile. Really, it is.

#TimeTravelAuthors #Day1
A college professor trips and falls backwards in time to the period of history she knows better than the two men living it. She barely has her own life together, but with the gift of hindsight, she will help them make history.

#WritersCoffeeClub #1May OMG! What happened to your MC's parents?

Daniel’s father died of a heart attack when D was in his early teens. His mother succumbed after a lengthy deterioration from Alzheimer’s.

Natalie shockingly finds out the truth about her parents in my second novel, Their Secret: https://pamportland.org/2022/03/05/no-secrets-here-part-1/

No Secrets Here – Part 1

A synopsis and any pertinent content warnings related to the topics in this novel may be found here: On The Forest. To this day, I’ve always kept Daniel’s darkest secret.  No hidden corner of his l…

#WritersCoffeeClub #30April Are you writing to prove a point to anyone?

Like many others, I’d say “myself” just to prove that I could be a blogger or a novelist. But that was more than a decade ago.

Okay, so yep. I’ve done it.
I’ve written 439 blog posts over 12.5 years and 4 novels. So what?

Am I still trying to prove something? If not, why do I still keep writing? There isn’t a loyal following out there hanging on my next post or release.

Feels like there are more Qs here than As.

#TimeTravelAuthors #Day29
Here’s a piece of my IRL adventure from one of the settings of my #TimeTravel epic. Just one more bit of research I mention back on #Day21.

The Charm Of Fort Clatsop

Fists Raised In Euphoria I am an auditory learner and the literature I recall best from high school are the ones Miss Bockius read to us.  Even today, I recall the written word far better if someon…

#WritersCoffeeClub #28April Do you ever picture a character as someone from real life? E.g. an actor, etc.

Only once. When I first started my #TimeTravelAuthors story in 2013, I thought Jonah Hill would be an ideal Patrick Marks. But in my inability to finish my manuscript, I expect he’s aged out of the role.

As if that was the only thing preventing it. 😂
