I am once again begging the computing community to sneak into art classes at their local community college and get involved enough to understand the hard physical and mental labor that goes into even unremarkable art
I sketched a bunch of craft stalls and picked my favourite, then I loosely put some colour under. I got hooked on the idea of the two big swirls drawing the viewer in. I made the rest of the image by fitting things to those swooshes. It was really fun to follow those colour-shapes as a constraint, rather than just colouring each noun (worm, book, wood, pig). Finally, I am really happy with how i controlled the values so that it reads well without colour.
I worked on this for my Colour Theory class at Emily Carr. Pretty happy with how it came out. Maybe these characters will make it into my next
#gamejam #artGood morning to everybody except iOS 26 🥰
They are choosing to leverage security threats to drive updates to the trash version of their OS. It's just astonishing to me how far they've fallen.
Apple released iOS 18.7.3 which closes the DarkSword exploit but they are refusing to make it available for phones which have the capability to run iOS 26.
i hate it so much when i open a blog post and the date is after LLMs became ubiquitous because now I have to be suspicious of every formatting decision, bullet point and indentation.
Todays impossibly gradual progress: moar trees, better colour, landscape, river.
