PSR PA is a place where healthcare professionals focus on advocacy and education around the threats to our health that medicine cannot cure.
We will continue to join with Philly Thrive to push Hilco to put the long term needs of the community first in addition to keeping its promises to remediate the land safely.
#PSRPA's Linnea Bond & board members Drs. Walter Tsou & Pouné Saberi supported Philly Thrive & SW Philadelphia communities impacted by the #PESRefinery at a public meeting held with Hilco (the new developers of the Bellwether district). The history of injustices & health impacts from the decades of fossil fuel processing were evident & there is still the question of why it took Hilco three years to address community concerns.
To all who celebrate- have a happy, healthy and meaningful Easter!

To commemorate Beattie's work, the 8 million acre Arctic National Wildlife Refuge Wilderness was renamed the Mollie Beattie Wilderness by the U.S. Congress in 1996.

Mollie also fought fiercely in Washington D.C. to bring a new "ecosystem approach" to fish and wildlife management, to protect the wildlife refuges, and against efforts to weaken Endangered Species Act of 1973.
During her tenure, she oversaw the addition of 15 new wildlife refuges, and established over 100 new habitat conservation plans. #PSRPA #WomensHistoryMonth #WomeninHistory #Environmentalist #Activist #Advocate #Conservationist #Scientist
Mollie Beattie was trained as a forester, worked as a land manager and administrator, and ended her career as the first woman to serve as director of the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service. #PSRPA #WomensHistoryMonth #WomeninHistory #Environmentalist #Activist #Advocate #Conservationist
