It is explicitly a war crime to do this, because international law says that each target must have accountability systems that make the decision making process explainable, enough that it could be defended in court.

AI is being used to select targets for bombings and strikes in Gaza and Iran. This is likely why a girl's elementary school in Minab was bombed.
