I watched FIGHT OR FLIGHT, starring Josh Hartnett, which is a Bullet Train type of action comedy. I had so much fun. I knew nothing going in, and was so delighted to enjoy every minute. My theater was busting up, the action is super fun, and Charithra Chandran was also great. Loved it.

We went to see THUNDERBOLTS*! It rocked! Rolling in as my favorite movie of the year so far! Great cast, awesome action, some sentimental bits. Excited to see more from this crew.

I watched BULLET TRAIN EXPLOSION! It was fine. I have no idea how fans of the original The Bullet Train (1975) will feel about this film. The original was one of the inspirations for Speed! This film is basically we have Speed at home.

Ethan and I watched SINNERS! We had a great time! It's a little bit scary for my tastes, but it's also a great social issue horror film dealing with the history of Blues, Jazz, and the Great Migration. Stellar performances. Falls down a little in act 3.

I watched THE WEDDING BANQUET which is an adorable little queer romance movie. There were only three people in the theater, but we were all rolling in laughter KMT is great! Lily is great! Bowen and HGC were both great! I highly recommend checking this one out!

I watched WARFARE which is a maximally realistic war movie that almost takes an anti-story approach to the film making in order to allow the viewer to bring themselves fully into the message. It is some of the best cinematography and sound design in years.

I watched NOT JUST A GOOF which is a documentary about A Goofy Movie (1995). I loved it, and it really gave a lot of dimensions to the film. It has lots of archival footage with Kevin Lima, and if you love A Goofy Movie, you should watch this doc.

Ethan and I watched A MINECRAFT MOVIE. It was not good. It feels like they just copy and pasted the screenplay from Mario, but then made it more boring. It may be enjoyable as a synergistic commercial for a 7 year old audience, but there's nothing here for anyone else.

I watched THE LIFE LIST which is a new romantic comedy on Netflix. It was sweet! It's been a while since I've watched a film that treated all of its character tenderly and with empathy. While it's never quite amazing, it is always good with solid performances. Worth a watch for a good laugh and cry.

I watched A WORKING MAN. I didn't like it at all. It's just a mess. The A story and the B story crossover in the most eye rolling way. The acting alternates between stiff and hyperbolic. The editing is a complete mess. The sets look cheap. Not worth watching.
