Car rental (Budget) closes the counter 2 hours before I arrive at 12:30am and it doesn't open again until 7am. Who can do business like this?

Ground pork marinated with oyster sauce, stock, garlic, ginger, sugar, mountain sauce, corn starch, with sautéed, sliced shitake mushrooms and blanched brocolli served with rice. Yum.
We're going to visit the widow of a long time friend of my father's next week. I remember a long time ago, maybe 45 years, when he found out I had sold my shotgun back to my father and he said "Every man should have a gun" and I replied "I have a sword now"
So I gave Youngest encouragement to make food when they are hungry and put out a dozen boxes of follow-the-directions to end up with food but they insisted on trying to cook from scratch and made something I only can describe as tasting like baking soda, salt and foreskin. I'll continue parenting despite.
It's a bit stressful because I tend to abuse books and Eldest is so gentle with them the book they handed me looked new and unread.
On Eldest's suggestion I am reading "The Life of Fredrick Douglass". Of course familiar with his writings but haven't read this in full before.
