I needed to get a new keyboard for work so I picked this up pretty cheap. Now I get to annoy everyone around me with my typing. I am pleased.

I work as a system administrator for a local school district. I enjoy tech stuff and building computers. Love video games, especially RPGs and MMORPGs. My current game of choice is Final Fantasy XIV.
I got my new garden box for the back patio. I'm going to attempt to grow an herb garden. I'm also going to get some bigger pots and see if I can maybe grow some other fun little things. I've never been one to garden, but I am very excited for this process.
We had huge storms roll in last night here in Oklahoma. My backyard flooded so all of the worms came up to die on my patio. I had to use the hose to send them back to the dirt. What a fun way to start my Saturday today.
I have started #Pokopia and am already in love. Ditto is the weirdest looking main character in their human form and I can't get enough. I am really looking forward to digging into this game hard over the weekend.
One of my big projects this past year was sprucing up my house. After my dad passed, I decided to take the estate funds and use them to update some things around the house that I let go by the wayside.
I started with the flowerbed that I let grow wild. I had a landscaper come in a gut everything and then had them kind of go nuts with the space. I love the results. The grass is still a work in progress but I already love the new look it has given my house.

It's only been a year and a half since my last post, but I figure it's never too late to try again.
I have been through some shit in this absence, but life is turning around (for me at least, the world is still very much on fire).
The world may be on fire right now, but I still want to find things to enjoy so I am going to use this platform to do just that.
I suppose a reintroduction is in order. I will write one up and post it later.
I have been using the Nubuntu Linux distro for a while now, and while I really like it, I think I'm going to be a bit more adventurous. The husband recently went in and compiled Gentoo and now I kind of want to see if I can pull that off. What could possibly go wrong?
I'm leaning towards using Mate or straight up Gnome though. I can't decide. Mate seems very customizable but Gnome is quite striking to look at. The "launcher" is a bit weird though.
Well I broke my Linux install. Which is fine as I was debating doing a fresh install after all the stuff I was doing. Guess I just forced my hand.
That said, I took a look at some Gnome stuff and part of me wants to try it because it's so weird compared to KDE. Decisions decisions.
Linux also runs Final Fantasy XIV better than my Windows build did. I find this strange but I'm not going to complain!
Ok so I decided I was going to join the husband in swapping to Linux. I've used it, and took a class in college for it but had never given it a shot as my daily driver. Thought why not? Could be fun.
After about a week of learning things, and trying a handful of distros, I think I've got the hang of this. Went with Nobara and am pretty happy with it. These commands and whatnot are taking some time to learn and get used to, but I'm having a blast.
Consider me glad to be rid of Windows.
