#FindsFriday #Celtic: `Three-dimensional depictions of animals appeared on all sorts of every-day objects. Small statues were also common, and were all skilfully cast using the lost-wax technique. Large game animals such as boars, stags and roe-deer, horses and oxen were preferred subjects. The simplified style of these ornaments often makes it impossible to identify the exact species portrayed. Line drawings, while much less common, use the same stylised depictions of these animals.`

With her 100th birthday
drawing near, I asked
my great aunt
if she had any wisdom

when you’re young
you believe
that the world
is your oyster,
and when you’re old
you realize
that the world
is your oy.

And then we both laughed.

"Took gummies outside a convenience store from a stranger’s vendor without thinking about the optics last time I was in Tennessee. I was carrying someone’s laundry for them through the city in a basket on foot and needed the strength boost. It didn’t make me much stronger but it did make walking home under the hot midwestern sun a lot more interesting."

There is a page listing all the cetaceans, and if there is no CC photo of them, they use "cetacean needed" instead of "citation needed"
