Social worker asked me if there was anything she could get me and I said a bible. She lit up. When I explained that it was purely for lit reading and I had lost my last one she asked what version and, after I assured her I was not a belief kind of person moved on with our visit.

I think I am going to like her.

The headmaster sighed as he signed the contract. It made sense for the school to be used in the evenings when it was empty. And it would help make ends meet, with all the recent cutbacks.

"Make sure everything is clean and tidy by 7am, or the deal is off."

The woman across the desk from him nodded, "We will." She was wearing a steampunk outfit, complete with a bizarre monocle in one eye.

"One more thing: Let me show you how to turn off the CCTV."

And so began a beautiful partnership, with evening adult activities in the school growing and flourishing. On different nights you might find erotic poetry readings in the classrooms; kink performance in the auditorium; make your own sex toys sessions in the workshop; and furries jumping on the equipment in the gymnasium — and on each other. There were even naked cookery lessons in the kitchen. No one was sure what the steampunk crew were doing in the lab.

The local alternative communities thrived, and the school saved the library and offered free hot meals for those in need.
