A glowing #Liquidambar styraciflua #autumn
Still harvesting tomatoes, will try to save some seeds from some, especially the Jen's tangerine #growyourownfood #allotment #harvest
Really rubbish photo but we have baby robins around the garden, I've seen two. Jumped from the Acer to the Fatsia watching me, already seems to have the instinct to associate a gardener with food. :) #gardening #wildlife #robin
Had this #wallflower for quite a few years so it's a not so short lived perennial. Must try some cuttings or seeds from it. #flowers #horticulture #propagation #garden #gardening

GROWING ONIONS & GARLIC OVER WINTER

I started my Japanese overwintering onions and garlic in module trays, now they're ready to plant out. I generally space them 15cm (6") between each bulb, in double rows 30cm (12") apart. Buried to a depth where only the top of the pointed end is just showing above ground, they work themselves up as they grow so by the end of the season most of the bulb is visible. I'll be putting enviromesh over them for the entire growing period to protect them from pests.
