Heres the RF front end. About 24 inch square. Inside runs under high vacuum, and cooled to 4 degrees Kelvin (liquid helium). The outside of the box cooled to 40K.
Upper left circle is a twisted pair from a chassis feed through to one of the electronics clusters housed in gold plated massive heatsinks. Theres s meter or so of twisted pair wound sround a post; thats a heatsink to keep the heat from rhe 40K box to rhe 4K electronics.
The RF input is 345 GHz, fed from the aluminum dishes mirror, feeding rhe crazy hand made diode in the middle hestsink.
