Into the face of the young man there had crept a look of furtive shame, the shifty hangdog look which announces that an Englishman is about to speak French.

@marcoarment I noticed this too a couple weeks ago and ended up here:

'When Apple will release the next Mac mini is less clear, but an early to mid 2026 launch is expected, with a date around WWDC in June most likely. However, with the Mac mini currently out of stock at Amazon U.S. and delivery delays for Apple in the U.S. and U.K. it is possible that we could see a new Mac mini very soon.'

@stroughtonsmith I continue to dream of the return of true slideover, but I finally bit the bullet and upgraded from 18 to 26.3.

In one week of using this incarnation of slideover (in conjunction with stage manager) I think I've had more iPad crashes than in my previous 13 years of use combined.

Pretty impressive stuff happening over there at Apple 😅

Mark Carney is going to have to sit Michael Rousseau down & explain to him, business dude to business dude, that he's got to step down in the interests of national unity. Air Canada is based in Montreal, Quebec is riled up and it's a provincial election year #cdnpoli

Carney 'very disappointed' in Air Canada CEO's English-only condolence video, says it lacked compassion | CBC News

Prime Minister Mark Carney had pointed words for the head of Canada's largest airline early Wednesday, saying the Air Canada CEO's unilingual message of condolences to those affected by the recent deadly crash showed a "lack of judgment" and "a lack of compassion."

@paige @heliomass very interesting, thanks for your insight. sounds like I need to brush up on my STV!

@heliomass very interesting, I read the whole thing. I've always been a proportional representation man, but at this point I'd take any kind of meaningful electoral reform and the description of Australian ranked preferential voting was very compelling.

I wonder how our resident expert @paige would rate ranked preferential versus proportional

Against all odds, I've somehow managed to write a second post over at @journal.

It turns out I'd been so thoroughly absorbed by the endlessly compelling #TapestryApp from @Iconfactory that I forgot I was supposed to be writing 😅

So I decided to write about it

While I appreciate the sentiment, what if North America were to concern itself instead with having fewer highways and more electric trains?

'Meanwhile, ugly EVs that cost too much and do nothing to move the needle on EV adoption continue to darken our highways.'

All the wrong EVs are getting canceled

Automakers keep killing their fun, affordable EVs, while continuing to sell big expensive ones. What gives?

@CdnCurmudgeon I had to beg the venerable McGill University to correct a spelling to 'centre' the other day, it's rough out there 😅
