BOY WHAT A DAY

Yesterday parts of the US south experienced wetbulb temperatures up to 94F (34.5C). At these temperatures, no amount of shade or hydration can save you. Without AC, you die. And this is just the beginning.

Just wait until courts start arbitrating which religions are and are not legitimate for the purposes of discrimination.

@[email protected] You can say what you want about the French but I'm pretty sure if this happened there the supreme court wouldn't be there anymore in the morning. And I'm not just talking the judges, I'm talking the building and anything near it.

The irony of the SCOTUS ruling allowing discrimination based on religious beliefs is that it's going to make things worse for organized religions, not better.

If you're allowed to use the law to harm people based on what you claim your god says, people will hate that god.

This SCOTUS just created a national precedent based on a case where the defendant *didn't even exist.*

There was no gay couple. No one tried to get the plaintiff to make a website. Nobody.

But now the ability to refuse service on religious grounds is legal regardless.

We have several deeply corrupt conservative members of the Supreme Court that cannot be removed by any circumstance save death.

It's not even sure if expanding the court could work, given that situation.

But Biden refuses to even start the necessary fight.

Let's say by some miracle Dems get a supermajority. They get the House, 60+ Senate seats, the works.

Let's say they actually do the shit they've promise. They make abortion legal federally, wipe out student loans, overhaul the EPA.

Then Alito throws out every law. Every one.
