I just released the the version 1.0.0 of B.Vibratr, a "flavoured" vibrato as an instrument. Or simply call it an absolutely overdesigned vibrato effect plugin. Features:
* Put a vibrato effect on everything you want
* Control vibrato by playing like an instrument (MIDI notes)
* Describe vibrato using oscillators and/or wavetables
* Modulate vibrato using FM, PM, or AM to add texture

It's my first #LV2 plugin after a break of some 4 years.

How stupid? I'm programming a whole wavetable synthesizer just for a simple sound effect.

I received a letter. Pretty huge envelope.

And it contained one of the most beautiful book(let)s I have encountered so far. It does deserve the denotation of artwork quite a bit, containing stunning photographs and the lyrics. Now let's see… there's music on this little USB wood block to listen to!

For those wondering, it's the album #StrategiesAgainstAlgorithms by @stephan which can(not) get from here: https://strategies.schallundstille.de/

I continue to be blown away by all the creativity and love I get to experience in #strategiesagainstalgorithms – I'd never thought it possible, and it makes me So. Very. Glad.

I'm touched and humbled by the need and the willingness to share that actually is out there, and by the deep humanity of it.

And it really makes me think – beyond the fact that big social is broken. Thoughts still unstructured, but once this project is over, I may be able to put them into words.

Finally got around to listening to "Strategies against Algorithms" by @stephan and I love it! A personal, sincere album, at times bleak, wrestling with climate change, AI, and other serious topics of our time. I especially enjoyed the interesting, warm synthesizer sounds.
It comes with a big beautiful booklet with handwritten lyrics.

You cannot buy this album. It is only available in exchange for something you created yourself: https://strategies.schallundstille.de/

Version 9.1 of YT' favorite Digital Audio Workstation was just released.

This is primarily a hotfix release intended to correct a number of bugs in the #ardour 9.0 release, but includes some nice new features and improvements as well: https://ardour.org/whatsnew.html

A few weeks ago I found a bag with old #cassette tapes and discovered recordings from the early #90s mostly myself endlessly jamming on the #guitar. One riff was not even terrible, so I sampled it and made a track out of it in @ardour , with #geonkick , #surgext and a ton of other #FOSS plugins, all to participate in the @libremusicchallenge
Hope you enjoy it, not sure my past self would have approved...

Tape Treasure by MyLoFy • Audius

Recently I have re-discovered a big bag full of old cassette tapes. Some of them were full of endless guitar jam recordings done by myself in the early 90s. A few ideas weren't that terrible, so I recorded one riff in Ardour, then tuned and incorporated the sample into this track. So basically, I was jamming with my young self. Not sure I would have liked the end result back then, but it was fun. Done in Ardour 8 and 9 with the following plugins: CNT | TYPE | NAME 4 * LV2 ACE Compressor (stereo) (by Ardour Community) 2 * LV2 Dragonfly Hall Reverb (by Michael Willis and Rob vd Berg) 17 * LV2 LSP Parametric Equalizer x16 Stereo (by LSP LV2) 6 * VST3 Surge XT (by Surge Synth Team) 5 * LV2 x42 Instrument Tuner (by Robin Gareus) 1 * LV2 B.Choppr (by Sven Jaehnichen) 1 * LV2 DR-14 - Crest Factor Loudness Range Meter (Stereo) (by Robin Gareus) 1 * VST3 Wolf Shaper (by Patrick Desaulniers) 1 * LV2 x42-dpl - Digital Peak Limiter Stereo (by Robin Gareus) 1 * LV2 LSP Compressor Stereo (by LSP LV2) 1 * LV2 ZL Equalizer (by ZL) 4 * LV2 AIDA-X (by AIDA DSP) 1 * LV2 LSP Sidechain Multiband Compressor Stereo x8 (by LSP LV2) 1 * LV2 EBU R128 Meter (by Robin Gareus) 5 * Lua ACE High/Low Pass Filter (by Ardour Community) 1 * LV2 GxTuner (by Hermann Meyer) 1 * VST2 Galactic (by airwindows) 1 * VST3 Spectral Compressor (by Robbert van der Helm) 1 * LV2 QDelay (by Tilr) 1 * LV2 BrightAmbience3 (by Hannes Braun) 1 * LV2 Dragonfly Plate Reverb (by Michael Willis) 2 * LV2 ZaMultiCompX2 (by Damien Zammit) 9 * LV2 LSP Parametric Equalizer x16 Mono (by LSP LV2) 1 * LV2 Odin2 (by TheWaveWarden) 2 * VST3 Airwindows Consolidated (by Airwindows) 2 * LV2 ACE Expander (by Ardour Community) 3 * LV2 ACE Compressor (by Ardour Community) 1 * LV2 ToTape5 (by Hannes Braun) 1 * LV2 Geonkick (by Iurie Nistor)
