Beer brewing, wild yeast harvesting, wine making, and other adventures in fermentation with (very little) help from a dog. Rarely updated website at mutedog.beer

Trump is adding his obnoxious image to US passports. So it is absolutely the duty of every other country to make some sort of passport stamp that makes him look like a clown or more of an idiot or something. I'm sure Denmark is probably up to this task, but it'd be great if loads of countries did this. Someone spread this idea to those consulants that can make this happen.

Bottling the plum wine. I need to make room for the blackberry wine that will need to be pressed soon.

Wild yeast Elderflower Wit. I have this on tap as well, but they always taste a little better out of the bottle for some reason.

The dough rose so much I decided to just bake it today and skip the fridge ferment as there's not much bacteria in the culture anyway.

I milled some wheat to attempt making a loaf of bread using my wild 'abbey' yeast culture to leave it. Going to treat it kind of like a sourdough.

The second Torch Cactus flower has opened now and the first one looks to be fading. The worst part about these flowers is how briefly they last.

The Torch Cactus has opened one of its three blooms! These things are so incredible.

Torch Cactus flower progress. They've probably got a couple more days before they'll open, but they are starting to look pretty cool.

So, today I was bottling some of the elderflower wit I made and also drinking a bottle of Grandad's Tree Beer and then I had the brilliant idea to refill the freshly emptied bottle with primed wit, there's grandad's yeast in the bottom of the bottle so maybe it'll taste different? IDK FAFO is the name of this game.

Elderflower Wit gravity sample. Really fruity and floral, maybe a little bit dryer than I'd like, carbonation may help with that though.

It's at 1.005 down from 1.046 so 5.4% ABV
